Bahrain Economic Development Board
The brief was to attract foreign investment (in competition with other Gulf countries like UAE and Qatar). 'Business friendly’ said they were open to business, and worked as a rallying cry for staff. ‘Friendly’ also suggested Bahrain is a good place to live – an oasis for expat families across the King Fahd Causeway from Saudi Arabia. I wrote brochures and websites, and managed input from management consultants McKinsey. Agency: M&C Saatchi, London.
Nigeria at World Economic Forum
Film to support the Nigerian government at the World Economic Forum in Davos, also broadcast on CNN. Nigeria has huge economic potential, but the country has an image problem and the film needed to be honest about the challenges. Instead of using a voiceover, we interviewed business people on the ground and credible sources like Nigerian-American economist Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, then Director General of the World Trade Organisation. We let them make the argument. The challenge was to ask the right questions and edit the answers into a strong story. Production house: AHC.
