The Boma by Kenya Red Cross
The Kenya Red Cross wanted a larger, more reliable source of income. They already ran a small guest house successfully, so they decided go for it and open a large luxury hotel. I helped them build the hotel brand around the idea of 'hospitality with a conscience', working on strategy, copy and creative direction. The Boma has been very successful in attracting ecotourists and business travellers visiting Nairobi's many NGOs and the UN's Africa headquarters. Agency: Imagine East Africa via The Network One, London.
The name 'Boma' came from the traditional African word meaning a community enclosure, often associated with community decision making. The circle in the logo represents that enclosure, as well as the brand's holistic values.
