NatWest
Before ESG and DE&I, there was CSR – Corporate Social Responsibility. I worked with Jacaranda Productions, now part of Psona Films, on a number of CSR films for NatWest and HSBC. This film talked about social inclusion – how NatWest embrace the needs of Poles who have settled in Britain. We also covered issues like financial crime and help for struggling businesses after the 2008 recession. One of Jacaranda's founders was Dame Anita Roddick, who pioneered a purpose and values-led approach to business with The Body Shop.
Infineum ESG Report
Infineum is a joint venture between ExxonMobil and Royal Dutch Shell making fuel and lubricant additives. When you're an oil company, you need to be careful how you talk about ESG: you have to get the tone just right. I removed all the jargon and complex language in this 123-page report, made claims concrete rather than abstract, and cut anything woolly or vague. The result was a report that felt honest and straightforward. It was also very easy to read. Agency: Hogarth.
